Mr. Long was a teacher at WHS for many years, and he wanted to start this scholarship for a student who made a turn-around in his or her educational journey. Someone who faced adversity but didn’t quit! He worked with many students during his time at WHS, and he was instrumental in helping many of them get back on track for graduation.
