
Elvin and Minnie Njos Memorial Scholarship
Elvin and Minnie Njos were married in 1937, and in 1941, they bought a farm in Cow Creek Township, where they lived for eight years. In 1949, they moved into Williston but continued to farm.
Elvin enjoyed horses, plowing, woodworking, boxing, playing cards and drinking coffee and exchanging jokes at the elevator. Minnie enjoyed gardening, crocheting, pinochle, crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Minnie was known for her sweet nature, kind heart and a wonderful sense of humor. They both dearly loved time spent with their children, grandchildren, and friends.
This scholarship was created in 2020 by Elvin and Minnie’s children: Darrell, James, David, Mike, Mark, Bonita, and Shelly. Its aim is to provide financial support for a deserving person to pursue an education for a bright future. The recipient will exhibit a strong work ethic and be kindhearted.
