Ron Martin was a great baseball player. He started playing organized baseball in 7th grade. He was on the Legion roster at age 12 and was on that roster through age 16. Then he played with the Williston Red Sox until age 19 when he tried out and made the Williston Oilers semi pro team. After being in the military for 2 years, he was offered a chance to try out for the Cleveland Indian farm team in Florida. He gave that up to come home and marry his high school sweetheart. From then on he had a great career playing city league softball.
The Ron Martin Memorial Baseball Scholarship was created by the Martin family to help a Williston baseball player with college expenses.
Scholarship amount: $500
