Norm and Cleo Furuseth Memorial Scholarship

Ted and his wife, Lois Schmitz. Two smiling, older Caucasian people. Both have white hair and thin, wire-frame glasses. The man is in a white shirt and the woman in a light blue jacket.

Norm and Cleo Furuseth were life-long learners and educators.

After many years of teaching, Cleo was appointed Williams County Superintendent of Schools in 1974, a position she held until her retirement in 1986.

Norman Furuseth taught at Williston High from 1956 to 1966. After moving away from Williston for eight years, he returned as Elementary Coordinator for the Williston Schools until his retirement. The Furuseth's were great believers in public education and loved living in Williston. This scholarship is given every year as a tribute to them.
