Leon Olson Recognition

Ted and his wife, Lois Schmitz. Two smiling, older Caucasian people. Both have white hair and thin, wire-frame glasses. The man is in a white shirt and the woman in a light blue jacket.

This fund was started in honor of Leon Olson, longtime Williston Public School District No. 1 superintendent of schools.

Mr. Olson retired in 1988 after 20 years as superintendent of Williston Public School District #1. He was respected by colleagues and parents and loved by students.

Former Coyote Foundation Director Del Easton served as Williston High School Principal under Olson. "Leon was my mentor. I learned so very much from Leon about school, work and life. Leon was a builder of character, buildings and programs. So many good things happened in this community because Leon was a builder," Easton said.

This Leon B. Olson Recognition fund helps various student projects and organizations at WHS.
